Lenovo’s Z5 Pro is a really interesting proposition in the mid-range phone market, mixing flagship specs with a Snapdragon 710 processor to keep down the price to an affordable level.
The design and display
The Z5 sports colorful and vibrant colours, this makes the device quite irresistible. The body reflects light in the most subtle way, the glass on top makes it look more premium. Nonetheless, this is definitely one of the cutest Lenovo smartphone thus far.
The positioning of the dual shooters at the back isn’t surprising at all, the company went all trendy, placing it at the top left corner in a vertical position. There’s a LED flash underneath the cameras, while the fingerprint scanner is at its usual position. It will be available in Black, Aurora and Blue colors only.
According to leaks, the Lenovo Z5 was suppose to come with an all screen display, just like the Vivo Apex. However, there’s a notch and a bottom chin, the notch houses just the speaker grille, selfie camera and proximity sensor.
Hardware, Software and Performance
The smartphone runs a mid-range chipset which has eight cores and should handle day to day task without any issues. There’s a Qualcomm SDM636 Snapdragon 636 processor and a fairly powerful Adreno 509 GPU handling gaming and other graphics associated issues.
The remaining of the bulk includes 6GB RAM and a nice 64GB or a beefier 128GB option both with no support for expansion. In today’s world of smartphones, this is a nice hardware here for you to enjoy usage of the device. Although not the latest version, it runs the Android 8.0 Oreo and ZUI 4.0 too.
The Lenovo Z5 is packed with a 16MP + 8MP rear dual-camera supporting AI. The main camera uses OV16885 with a f/2.0 aperture, 16MP resolution, 1/3.06” sensor size, and 1um pixel size, while the sub-camera is Hi-Hoc, with 1/4 inch sensor size, 1.12um pixel size. It is responsible for portraits and not involved in imaging. In the front, the phone carries an OV8856, with an 8MP resolution, ¼” sensor size, and 1.12um pixel size.
