OnePlus 7T: More than just looks

Introduction
The Oneplus 7T continues the tradition of the teardrop notch that debuted with last year’s OnePlus 6T, a much more practical but less visually arresting design next to the 7 Pro’s slide-up camera and the lack of screen bezel that accompanies it. There are so many awesome features that accompany this Smartphone and we will be taking a look at them in this review.

The design and display
The OnePlus 7T shares a similar design language with the OnePlus 7. There’s the same slightly curved back and a waterdrop notch at the top of the screen, but unlike previous ‘T’ upgrades, you won’t struggle to tell the 7 and 7T apart – this is mainly because of the circular camera housing, which OnePlus says is a nod to old-fashioned cameras.
The OnePlus 7T. has a matte-frosted glass back like the 7 Pro, whereas the OnePlus 7 has a shinier and smoother texture. As we mentioned, the 7T slots into the OnePlus lineup between the existing OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, that refers mainly to the design. The dimensions of the three phones differ by a small margin. The 7T measures 160.94 x 74.44 x 8.13mm and weighs 190g, making it slimmer and lighter than the OnePlus 7 Pro, and slightly taller and bulkier than the OnePlus 7.
In addition to the new design, OnePlus also gives the small 7T an improved display. Although the small OnePlus does not require an edge display, the smartphone is equipped with the Fluid AMOLED panel of the OnePlus 7 Pro, developed in cooperation with Samsung. In plain language, this means that the OnePlus 7T is also capable of displaying content at up to 90 Hertz.

Hardware, Software and Performance
The manufacturer replaces the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 with the Snapdragon 855+. Like its predecessor, the 855+ is an octa-core processor with the difference that the maximum clock rate has been increased to 2.96 GHz. There is also more RAM, because there is now 8GB in this instead of the 6GB in the OnePlus 7. However, the GPU in the form of the Adreno 640 and the internal storage, which still starts at 128GB, remain unchanged. There is no possibility of storage expansion via MicroSD cards.
For the new OnePlus 7T series there is also a major software update. OxygenOS makes the jump from version 9 to 10, to match the latest Android version. Besides the new features in Android 10, OnePlus’ OxygenOS offers some improvements of its own, some of which are even better than the Android 10 features Google has in mind.

Camera
New for the 7T is the triple camera system on the back. The main 48-megapixel camera has optical image stabilisation, and is joined by a 12-megapixel 2x telephoto camera and a 16-megapixel ultrawide camera.
The combination allows you to shoot photos and video at 0.6, 1 or 2x optical zoom or up to 10x digital zoom.

Battery Life
The OnePlus 7T has a 3800mAh cell that’s slightly bigger than the one in that phone, and although the 7T has a more power-hungry display, the impact on battery life is minimal.
