POCO has just launched two record-breaking killers on the world market. The POCO F3 and POCO X3 Pro are the cheapest trending devices with the most modern hardware you will actually find in Europe and America. Those looking for maximum performance at minimum cost will love these two Xiaomi phones for their excellent processors. But is it alright spending more to acquire the POCO F3, or is the POCO X3 Pro enough for your day-to-day needs? Let’s try to find them together through Poco X3Pro and Poco F3 review.
Design and Display
POCO F3 offers the best design because it is made with higher quality materials. The back is made of Gorilla Glass 5 protection and the frame is made of aluminum. In addition, this phone is thinner at only 7.8 mm thick and even lighter at only 196 grams. Last but not least, the camera module design is of course more attractive. The POCO X3 Pro has a plastic case, it is thicker and heavier than its competitors. However, note that the POCO X3 Pro is IP53 certified and protects the phone from dust and splashes.
The POCO F3 is also excellent for display, with one big difference in terms of image quality. The POCO F3 has an AMOLED panel that offers lighter colors and deep blacks; it also has a higher peak brightness of 1300 nits and is HDR10+ certified. The POCO X3 Pro possesses a mid-range IPS panel with less impressive colors and lower brightness. Despite having an AMOLED display, like the POCO X3 Pro, the POCO F3 has a side fingerprint scanner.
Hardware and Processor
The POCO X3 Pro comes with a high-end hardware department, but the POCO F3 is much better thanks to a more powerful processor. We’re talking about the Snapdragon 870, which sits halfway between the Snapdragon 865+ and the Snapdragon 888 and offers the best performance. The POCO X3 Pro features the Snapdragon 860 chipset, which is basically a rebrand of the Snapdragon 855+. While the POCO F3 allows 5G connectivity, the X3 Pro does not. The memory capacity is similar with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage. Note that the POCO X3 Pro has memory that is expandable, while the POCO F3 lacks a micro SD slot.
Unlike the hardware departments, these camera is far from being a high-end sensors. With the POCO F3 and X3 Pro, you get a lower mid-range camera setup. The former arrives with a better macro camera but lacks a depth sensor, while the latter possesses a depth sensor but an inferior macro camera. The ultra-wide camera and main sensor are the same. Both phones have a 20-megapixel selfie camera, but with different focal lengths: the F3 has a lighter focusing aperture, so it should be able to click selfies better.
The X3 Pro has a much bigger battery, but it’s also a much bigger phone. As long as it lasts longer than the F3 – because of capacity, processor choice and 5G.
Pros and Cons
Xiaomi POCO F3
POCO X3 Pro
IP53 protection against dust and splash
Glass Gorilla 6
The F3 is a higher-end device – though no ‘pro’ tag – thanks to 5G connectivity, more processing power, smaller scale and design, as well as a brighter screen and smarter camera layout.
If you want longer battery life, don’t like 5G, and are looking for a cheaper phone, the Poco X3 Pro is a more attractive pairing option. But considering how good the F3’s starting price was, it’s hard not to be tempted.
