For a long time, we have not seen the Redmi smartphones specifically the “prime” branding. But now they have brought back the Redmi note 9, which has been launched because the Redmi series had become very expensive due to some currency fluctuations. Let me give a broad review on the Redmi note 9 prime and see how good it is;
Redmi 9 Prime design; functional
The Redmi 9 prime is much similar to the Redmi 9, which was launched internationally. This phone comes in a 6.53-inch display with a dewdrop notch at the top. Due to this phone being thick, it packs a 5,020mAh battery and a scale of 198g. It has a curved frame that makes it comfortable to hold.
On the top, there is an IR emitter that can be used to control appliances. This is a useful and a common feature on the Xiaomi smartphones. You will also find a speaker, 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C port which is at the bottom, and a primary microphone. Also, there are volume and the power buttons positioned on the right and are easy to reach. There is also a tray on the left side which has three slots; one for micro SD card and two for Nano-SIMs.
Talking of the camera, it is pill-shaped and raised from the body. The module houses three camera sensors, apart from the fingerprint scanner. The fourth sensor is situated outside the module which is positioned along with the LED flash.
Redmi 9 Prime specifications; New hardware
On the Redmi 9 note, Xiaomi offers a full-HD + display which is not common at this price point. The Redmi 9 has Corning Gorilla Glass for protection to withstand the daily use. The Redmi 9 prime is powered with the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC, an Octa-core processor with six Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.8GHz and two Cortex-A75 cores clocked at 2GHz. It is paired with 6Gb RAM, and you can choose between 128GB and 64GB storage options. Some of the Redmi 9 Prime software is clubbed together in the settings app under special features.
Redmi 9 Prime Performance; Big battery, slow charging
This phone offers good performance. While downloading the apps, you can also multi-task them very easily. The Redmi 9 Prime offers a good battery life that lasts a day and a half with normal usage. Fortunately, this phone can last up to 16hours, 4minutes in case you are doing an HD video loop test. Xiaomi ships a 10W charge which is partially slow which gets the Redmi 9 prime to 36percent in an hour, 19percent in thirty minutes, and a full charge to three hours. The phone does not support 18W fast charging but you will need to buy or find or buy a new charger.
Redmi 9 prime cameras; Average performer
This Redmi 9 prime has a quad-camera setup with a 5-megapixel macro camera, 13-megapixel primary camera, 2-megapixel depth sensor, and an 8-megapixel wide-angle camera. This camera is easy to use and it is pretty basic. You will get quick toggles for HDR, AL, and filters. This pro color toggle boosts the colors in the output. As well, there is a PRO shooting mode that gives complete control over the camera settings. For the video recording, it is limited to 1080p on both selfie cameras and primary. No video stabilization results in shaky footage.
